Made good progress in filling in the gaps in the comparative framework of Chapter 1 in two areas, 19th-century armies and party systems.
My job interview this morning went well; I hear at the end of next week whether there'll be a second one. As Villager Tanja would say, thumbs pressed! (Apparently, that's the German version of "fingers crossed.")
From June 2007 to June 2008, I posted each weekday regarding progress on my dissertation. This blog was called "It Takes a Village to Write a Dissertation."
On August 15, 2008, I filed my dissertation, completing all the requirements for my Ph.D in Political Science from UC Berkeley. Friends and family, thank you for keeping me honest. Mission accomplished!

Congrats on the writing progess, excellent news! And double kudos on the job interview. Sounds like things are falling into place. This is good working weather - no desire to be outside, so might as well work! At least that's what I tell myself :)
